DESCRIPTION:This is a session to discuss the details around starting a new regional LPNC affiliate \nFeel free to join if you want to take part in the founding of a new regional affiliate for the LPNC. Mecklenburg has had an active affiliate for years\, but we draw from surrounding counties and yet have little to offer them. We want to help start a regional affiliate to keep the community and camaraderie while also making it an official affiliate that can help bolster the Libertarians in surrounding counties. DESCRIPTION:Join us in the private dining area of the Charlotte Meridian Place Hawthorne’s New York Pizza and Bar off Monroe Rd to watch the live-streamed Soho Forum debate between Natasha Sarin and Adam Michel**.**\nThe only cost is the food or drinks you purchase\, so come eat\, drink and fellowship with us. \nThe debate starts at 6:30\, but come early to eat some killer pizza and get to know the local libertarian party. \nThe Resolution: \n### Billionaires should pay a higher share of federal taxes. \nFor the affirmative:\nNatasha Sarin is a professor of law at Yale Law School and the president and co-founder of the Budget Lab at Yale. She served as the deputy assistant secretary for economic policy and later as a counselor to Secretary Janet Yellen at the U.S. Treasury Department\, where her work focused on narrowing the gap between the taxes owed by the American public and those collected by the IRS.\nFor the negative:\nAdam Michel is the director of tax policy studies at the Cato Institute\, where he focuses on analyzing the economic and budgetary effects of taxation in the United States. He served as deputy staff director at the Congressional Joint Economic Committee\, as a senior policy analyst at the Heritage Foundation\, and as program manager for the Spending and Budget Initiative at the Mercatus Center at George Mason University.
